In the second half of this short introduction to Narrators I consider some of the complexities that can be involved in narrative voice: nested narrators, narrators who indeterminately know all and create all, narrators whose perspective seems to be coloured by that of a character (free indirect speech), and narrators which it may be unhelpful to conceive of as human, and which it may be more helpful to conceive just as ‘narration’.
